Projects

Ely Museum Path: In partnership with the White Pine Chamber of Commerce and the City of Ely, a six foot wide asphalt path will soon be constructed that connects the White Pine Public Museum and the Nevada Northern Railway Museum. This pedestrian pathway was approved for funding through the Recreation Trails Program in 2004 and is scheduled for completion fall of 2006.

Cave Lake State Park Trails: In cooperation with the US Forest Service, Nevada Division of State Parks and Nevada Conservation Corps this project will add 6.5 miles of new trails at Cave Lake State Park for hikers and mountain bikers. The new trails explore the limestone cliffs as they wind down from the top of the Overlook Trail all the way down to the Steptoe Creek Trail. Funding for construction is being provided through the Question 1 Grant Program and the US Forest Service. Construction is scheduled to begin summer 2006. There will be plenty of volunteer opportunities to help work on this project so please Contact Us to find out how you can help.
