Hiking

Sacramento Pass

Intro: This BLM rec site has long been merely a reststop along Hwy 50 for weary travelers to stop and strectch their legs but now their is another reason to stop. This trailhead located 15 minutes from Baker offers some fun trails with more on the way. A couple short loops offer challenging rocky trails with technical side features while exploring some unique rock formations. If you're visiting the National Park and want to take the bike out for a spin this is a great place.

Advisories: None at this time.

Getting There: Sacramento Pass is located approximately 50 minutes east of Ely as you are heading towards Great Basin Naitonal Park on Hwy 50/6. Heading east as you start heading down the back side of Sacramento Pass you will see the recreation area on the right complete with a sign, shade structures, and restrooms. To get to the trailhead head towards the far left corner of this first area and take the road that goes through a yellow cattleguard. Follow this road, take lefts at the first and second junctions and you will see a restroom, fencing, and a parking area. The trail starts lookers right of the restroom.

Directions: Once you get on the trail things are pretty self explanatory. You will come to a junction in the trail after about 1/4 mile. The trail loops back to here so head off in either direction and end up back at this point.
